Prestigious International Awards Program Recognizes Standout Educational Technology Companies and Visionaries Shaping the Future of Learning

WORCESTER, Mass., – June 10, 2026 – The ASSISTments Foundation (TAF), a non-profit dedicated to scaling the reach and impact of ASSISTments, an evidence-based K-12 math practice and assessment platform, today announced that it has been awarded “Learning Analytics Solution Provider of the Year” in the 8th annual EdTech Breakthrough Awards program conducted by EdTech Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies and solutions in the global educational technology market.

ASSISTments is a nonprofit organization made up of educators, learning scientists, and software engineers dedicated to improving student learning through teacher-paced, evidence-based online technology. ASSISTments is a rigorously researched online math assessment tool that helps to improve student achievement, especially for students in under-resourced communities and those who begin the year behind.

The tool applies learning science directly to classroom practice. Every feature supports combining standards-aligned math practice with immediate, targeted feedback for students and real-time, actionable reports for teachers. ASSISTments integrate seamlessly into teachers’ existing workflows rather than necessitating new systems. The platform includes problem sets from open-source curricula such as Illustrative Mathematics, alongside mastery-oriented skill practice, so teachers can align assignments to what is already being taught.

ASSISTments delivers instant reports to help identify learning gaps and differentiate instruction. From teachers to district leaders seeking high-level insights, the platform’s robust reporting tools provide the needed data to drive student growth and close achievement gaps. The variety of reports includes Class Reports for a comprehensive view of how the class is performing across assignments; Assignment Reports for student performance on specific assignments within a class; and Student Progress Reports that track individual progress over time.

“ASSISTments saves teachers time, providing meaningful insight that can inform instruction the very next day. Immediate data reports shed light on who is struggling, but with teachers pressed for time, a lack of real‑time insights into a student’s understanding can create learning gaps that don’t surface until it’s too late - at test time,” said Steve Johansson, managing director, EdTech Breakthrough. “ASSISTments combines rigorous evidence, measurable student growth, teacher-centered design, and financial sustainability, proving that when research and classroom practice align, meaningful learning gains follow. We’re pleased to award them with ‘Learning Analytics Solution Provider of the Year!”

The EdTech Breakthrough Awards program returns for its  8th annual cycle with its largest and most competitive field yet, drawing a record number of nominations from innovators across more than 20 countries. The program is dedicated to recognizing breakthrough educational technology products and companies reshaping how the world learns – in classrooms, campuses, boardrooms and beyond. Thousands of entries were evaluated across a wide range of categories spanning the full edtech spectrum, including Student Engagement, Classroom Management, School Administration, Adaptive Learning, STEM Education, Corporate Learning, CareerPreparation, Language Learning and many more.

“Our foundation in research is not an afterthought, but core to who we are. Independent evaluations show that classrooms using ASSISTments have achieved 60% more learning, with students experiencing 2x learning acceleration when they entered with lower prior achievement,” said Cristina Heffernan, Founder and Co-Executive Director of ASSISTments.

“Thank you to EdTech Breakthrough for this accolade. We have worked hard to ensure teachers feel confident using data to drive instruction. This commitment to teacher readiness strengthens outcomes and deepens instructional practice, moving beyond simple tool adoption to meaningful instructional change.”

The platform has earned a Tier 1 rating from Evidence for ESSA, the highest level of evidence for educational interventions.
