This guide explains the difference between assigning in Practice Mode vs Test Mode and explains how to assign in Test Mode as well as change default settings.
Practice Mode provides immediate feedback, hints, and multiple attempts to support learning, while Test Mode disables these features to assess student understanding without support.

In Practice Mode, students can only change their responses to answers on open-response questions.
In Test Mode, students by default have the opportunity to change any of their answers before their final submission.

When Test Mode is assigned in the default experience, students are allowed to make corrections while working on assigned problem sets, they just will not receive immediate feedback or access to student supports.

Assignments assigned in Test Mode default to allowing revisions for any question. This allows students to change their answers before final submission of the assignment. Teachers have the option to adjust this at assign time or change the default.

Note: Students assigned this assignment in Test Mode will no longer be able to change their answers before final submission.
