Sandy Alston

A woman with a purple shirt and a smile. - Assistments - Formative Assessment Solutions

Tutor Program Associate

Sandy supports a team of educators by helping them get started, organizing their schedules, and ensuring accurate participation and program records. She also creates training materials, assists with presentations, manages communication with partner organizations, and troubleshoots day-to-day issues to keep everything running smoothly. She came to this work after 30 years of teaching in public school classrooms and four years teaching adults, experiences that shaped her understanding of both learner and educator needs. For the past six years, she's contributed to ASSISTments through roles focused on content creation and facilitating online professional learning.

What drives Sandy is a deep belief in the power of education to change lives, trust in the dedication and talent of teachers, and concern about the direction education is heading. She's especially motivated by the chance to ensure that students receive consistent, high-quality instruction and that those who support them are set up for success. This role allows her to merge her experience, values, and purpose in a meaningful way.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and caring for the animals on their farm.
