Organization
The ASSISTments Foundation is a growing non-profit that spun out of Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2019. Our founders are former math teachers who could never find enough time to give students feedback and analyze data to plan instruction. They developed ASSISTments, a best-in-class math practice and assessment platform, to enable K-12 math teachers to assign high-quality content and to use powerful data and reporting to better meet their students’ needs.
ASSISTments is the most rigorously studied and proven edtech solution on the market. The ASSISTments Foundation is focused on 1) scaling ASSISTments and 2) engaging in innovation and research, in partnership with the ASSISTments Lab @ WPI. We reached over 100,000 students last year and are focused on accelerating this growth.
Opportunity for Impact
We are seeking a Math Curriculum Developer to develop and align high-quality, interactive math practice and assessment that reflects the intent of standards and aligns to established curricula. Reporting to the Director of K-12 Math Curriculum Design, this role focuses on standards alignment, content development, and content review.
This role requires a strong understanding of how standards are enacted within comprehensive curricula and the ability to create or adapt content aligned to full curricula or standards mastery pathways within a digital, interactive learning platform. Exceptional attention to detail and strong judgment around alignment are essential.
If you’re a pedagogical math nerd who loves digging into standards, sweating the alignment details, and producing clean, well-aligned content, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

- Create crosswalks across state standards sets to support multi-state alignment and implementation
Curriculum Alignment & Scope
- Demonstrate deep understanding of scope and sequence within comprehensive curricula (e.g., Illustrative Mathematics)
- Align content to specific lessons, units, and progressions within established curricula

EdTech Implementation & Strategic Decision-Making
- Demonstrate understanding of the strengths and limitations of delivering mathematics in a digital environment
- Make strategic decisions about how to design and adapt content for an interactive math platform
- Make intentional pedagogical decisions about problem design based on ASSISTments problem types, selecting formats that best support accessibility, clarity, and the intended learning goal while maintaining standards alignment and rigor.
Project Management
- Manage individual content development and review projects from start to finish
- Maintain organized documentation of alignment decisions, crosswalks, and revisions
- Meet deadlines while upholding high standards for accuracy and quality
- Other tasks as needed
Professional Qualifications
- At least 6 years of full-time K–12 math teaching experience (non-negotiable)
